Developed by Coastal Solutions in collaboration with the manufacturer over the past 18 months, this heavy-duty 4-inch butt hinge has been through several rounds of refinement and testing to deliver strong performance in demanding coastal and external environments. Manufactured in marine-grade 316 stainless steel with a highly polished finish and POM bushes, it is designed for smooth, reliable operation and long service life.

Unlike many conventional “316” ball-bearing hinges, where the bearings themselves are often the weak point and can bleed rust through the knuckle, this hinge uses a POM-bushed design to help avoid hidden bearing corrosion and reduce metal-to-metal wear. The polished finish also helps reduce the surface contamination issues sometimes seen on lower-quality brushed stainless hinges.

These hinges have been tested and rated at 160 kg per pair, with a durability test of 200,000 cycles, making them a strong choice for heavy-duty doors in exposed or high-use environments.
